Not a morning person
Two mornings in a row I have rolled myself out of bed with my alarm, put on my shoes and started my run... only to get all pissed off before I even hit 1/4 mile. I then tromp back to my front door like a toddler with no ice cream. I want to be an early riser, I really do. The night before, I always tell myself that I will wake up early, get in a fantastic run, maybe even do some dishes and laundry, then I'll watch the sun rise by myself with a steamy cup of coffee. Easier said than done. A year ago I would go out for a run at 10:30 or 11 pm. I never missed a run back then, so I'm going back to the late night routine. Hopefully it works out.

If God had meant us to run in the morning he would have made them later in the day.
ReplyDeleteI will only do early morning on the weekend long run only because I do not want to miss so much of a day when I am gone 3-5 hours.
Getting up pre-dawn sounds so marvelous at about 9 PM. Actually getting up...well not so much.
Agreed!
ReplyDeleteUm I've seen you at 6 am and you seen like an ok morning person to me. Maybe you just need a little dose of K-Rut in the morning.
ReplyDeleteAn hour of car dance party doesn't hurt either.
ReplyDeleteJust because you are not a morning runner does not make you a non-morning person.
ReplyDeleteI guess you can never run another marathon... maybe the midnight ultra in FW
ReplyDeleteYou can only do early morning runs if you can get to bed early enough, and you have to give yourself a half hour between waking and running. You actually need to be awake before starting, not just out of bed!
ReplyDeleteGood point Adam.
ReplyDeleteGeez Dad! If YOU really want to do that mid night ultra, I guess I'll see what I can do.
Please just stop to think...at least you CAN run in the morning if you want to. I get up so early to go to work I CANT run in the morning. I am really jealous of you that you have the opportunity to run/workout in the mornings. If you just got up and did it your whole day would be better :) and you wouldnt have that worry all day about how you havent done it yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm a night runner too... nothing wrong with that! I am not a morning person and I love sleeping more than anything else.
